To maximize the Festival's educational impact and further empower our audiences, Festival Film Jakmèl is partnering with Yéle Haiti to design and present dynamic educational seminars that bring together the local public, invited reputable NGOs and governments. Through the power of educational film, panels of experts, an open microphone for public speakers and a selection of promising new development initiatives, these 'town hall' seminars will disseminate critical information, share replicable solutions and inspire new approaches toward the development of the nation. While each seminar will inevitably address challenging issues, the underlying emphasis of each session will be constructive and hopeful in tone.
Participating NGO's are being consulted and an official list of partners will be announced in the coming months. Currently, topics addressed will be the following:
- HIV / AIDS: 25 years is enough.
- OUR ENVIRONMENT: THE CHALLENGE for youth around the world to conserve, protect and reforest.
- WOMEN: The unsung heroes of the nation and the issues they must overcome.
- Leadership and Team Building Skills: If you have a vision you need help to achieve it.
- The Civic Mind and Community Development: How you can make a difference for your country.
- JACMEL: Historic Preservation and Development
