URGENT NEED FOR BGAN INMARSAT IN JACMEL

inmarsat_hugheshns9201123205714_std1

Andrew and students are suffering from slow internet and we can’t get our video uploaded fast enough!

Can someone temporarily donate a Bgan Inmarsat to the school so more stories and media can get out? It’s small and lightweight – less than laptop and will deliver proper internet speed for them. It could be sent down with journalists or aid workers and brought to David Belle at the Oloffson Hotel who will send or bring it to Jacmel.

    Hi
I am an amateur filmmaker/editor on Long Island, New York. I read about what you have been doing to document the aftermath of the Earthquake. Is there anything video-related or otherwise I can do to help you with your efforts? I have 5 years experience with Final Cut Pro, and I am a senior in High School.

    Thanks!

How much is one of these units, and would you know how it is possible to send one to you?

My name is Eric Talman and I am the Technical Manager for Satellitephonestore.com, over the past 4 days we have shipped out 100s of Iridium satellite phones Inmarsat BGAN satellite terminals. We are still sending these systems via major organizations such as the American Red Cross and there is a good possibility that one can be carried down.

Yesterday I sent emails to a number of distribution partners in the US of Inmarsat requesting a donation of the equipment needed by the students. Hopefully one of them will respond positively. Since it’s the weekend I don’t expect any news till tomorrow. Any other suggestions I will be happy to help with.
