The Bouncing Ball

A narrative short film by Ciné Institute student, Frero Pierre

Nedge, a 16 year old teenage girl has been chosen to be “mambo”, a voodoo priestess. However Ogou, the god of war, called her to be his wife. She refuses to, but destiny sets upon her. Her boyfriend, Eddy, gets mysteriously sick. Nedge has to choose. Will she give up her sweet adolescence to a mambo’s life?

That was off tha chain, as a cubatian born in boston, I was able to see my youngers years in this movie. It’s a part of my life I try to explain to people as a motivational speaker here in the U.S I learned how to play the tamboo from going to these ceremonie at the tender age of five to seven. I recalled being burn by a cigarette because I wasn’t supose to be there and yeah they laughed at me as I ran. Great movie
