Ciné Lekòl (Film in French / School in Creole) is Haiti’s only professional film school. Tuition is free but highly competitive. The two year curriculum offers intensive, hands on A-Z production training. The school's faculty is made up of award winning international film professionals see team.

Philosophy

Thriving film industries exist outside of Hollywood. India’s Bollywood and Nigeria’s Nollywood generate billions of dollars, providing tens of thousands of jobs. Filmmaking can reduce poverty. Without training and investment an industry cannot flourish.

Vision

To foster a movement that harnesses Haiti's rich culture and empowers its talented youth to create the biggest Afro-Francophone film industry in the world.

Values

Great films can be made for little money with locally available resources.
Haitian youth must not be left behind by the technological revolution.

Need

Few Haitian youth are lucky enough to complete high school, let alone university, and have almost no professional opportunities in their future. Haiti's historic isolation and chronic instability have created a crippled nation severely lacking in the most basic infrastructure and institutions from which opportunity can grow. Our idea: fast track, professional training in twenty first century digital film and video making and provide a way for Haitian youth to break the isolation and stagnation that has plagued the generations before them.
